About the Conference

We are happy to announce that the International Society for Research on Emotion (ISRE) conference will take place in-person on 17 to 20 July 2024 at Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The ISRE conference is an exciting opportunity to meet international colleagues, present your work, and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in emotion research. ISRE members study emotions from a wide range of disciplines including affective computing, anthropology, art and design, education, history, linguistics, neuroscience, philosophy, psychology and sociology.

ISRE Travel Awards

We’re excited to announce applications are open for our Travel Awards at ISRE24. These awards support scholars facing financial barriers.

Eligible attendees can submit their application to the ISRE2024 Organizers (ISRE24@qub.ac.uk ) by 30 April, more details here.

Emotion Express: One minute to inspire!

The International Society for Research on Emotion (ISRE) is pleased to invite YOU to take on a challenge: tell people about your research using language that is accessible to a general audience, or those who might not be familiar with emotion research and get them as excited about emotions as we are. Take this opportunity to challenge yourself, expand/put into practice your communication skills, and bridge the gap between our research community and your grandparents, friends and wider society.

Record your one-minute pitch and share with the world your passion. The submission deadline is May 4th, 2024. More information available on the ISRE Website here.

The challenge awards two top prizes, each accompanied by two runner-up prizes. All prizes include certificates, and the two winners receive a cash prize of USD $200 each.

  • Emotion Express – Public’s Choice Award: Voted by the public (online) before the ISRE24 conference. Votes will be counted based on trackable engagements on ISRE social media accounts.
  • Emotion Express – Peers’ Choice Award: Voted onsite by ISRE24 attendees during the conference in Belfast.
